How to delete your account and data
Option 1 — From inside the app (recommended):
Open Skanlore → Sign in as the parent → tap the 📊 Word Tome button → enter your Parent PIN → scroll to the bottom → tap "Request Account Deletion" → confirm.
Option 2 — By email:
Send a message to support-skanlore@njlabs.app with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and the email address you registered with. We respond within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirmation.
What gets deleted
Upon confirmed deletion, the following are permanently removed within 30 days:
- Your parent account and authentication record
- Every child profile linked to the account
- All quest progress, achievements, streaks, and unlocked spells
- All scanned word history (the Word Tome)
- All scan attempts and verdicts
- Any verdict reports your household has filed
- All consent records (retained only in anonymised audit form for the legal minimum)
What is retained
Crash diagnostic data (Sentry) may be retained by our crash-reporting provider for up to 90 days for app-stability purposes. These logs contain only a pseudonymous account identifier — never your name or email — and after deletion that identifier no longer maps to any active account.
Cancelling a deletion request
After requesting deletion, you have a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the request by signing back in — the app will show a banner offering to restore your data. Once the 30 days elapse, the data is permanently gone and cannot be recovered.
